POST-PRODUCTION
your sound
What do I do?
Post-Production is what is says on the tin - it's the process audio takes once it's past the production stage. Depending on the audio you have/are producing, this can look like a few different things, including:
-
Restoration/Cleaning: the process of taking audio and applying a variety of techniques to reduce background noise etc.
-
Mixing: taking a fully recorded/produced songs multitracks, then applying a variety of techniques and effects to bring them together as a single cohesive unit.
-
Editing: generally for voiceovers, podcasts or audiobooks but can be used for other audio productions too. This will involve trawling through the audio, removing unwanted noises/phrases, mistakes and any other things you may want changing too. Some LIGHT effects may be added too.
-
Mastering: this is the final stage of audio before distribution. Mastering is taking your final audio and making sure it's ready for playback on all different playback types such as streaming services, CD, TV & more.

Essentially, once you've produced your audio, you'd send it to someone like me to make sure it's well balanced, well and sounding amazing.
